Buenas!

Éste es el post donde espero que alguien consiga la ip / dirección de algún servidor de Until Uru que siga activo. Con ésto me refiero a algún proyecto que les interesase mantenerlo.... wink.gif

Aún hay gente deseosa de recorrer D'ni tal y como nos lo presentaron en Until Uru, estoy seguro de que sí smile.gif
Aún no exploré todo ni me puse a buscar las "manitas" sad.gif

Hola!!

Hago reflood al tema y cocluyo con lo que muchos sabían y me negaba a creer....
Cerrado el D'mala Shard y el Auth Shard los servidores no oficiales de Until Uru siguen funcionando pero.... Sin autenticación no nos sirve de nada, en otras palabras, no se puede acceder!

Mi última esperanza era el Guild Of Technologists y me puse en contacto con el admin y webmaster, un tal TomahnaGuy , el que me resolvió las dudas en un par de emails atendidos con rapidez.

Concluyendo: Me contó que con la expansión de Uru, Ages Beyond Myst, The Path of Shell incluía algo llamado To D'ni, el cual me permitiría acceder de manera de Un Jugador a la caverna de Until Uru...

Espero encontrar la manera de hacerme con The Path of Shell de la forma que no me tenga que comprar otro Uru, puesto que poseo el Ages Beyond Myst tal y como me lo vendió Codegame....

Mejor que nada sí es wub.gif , aunque esté solo en ella...

En un futuro (espero que próximo) me uniré a Uru Live , si bajasen las cuotas.... si me quito de encima ciertas asignaturas de la facu... jeje

Un saludo!! Y personalmente pienso que Until Uru no debía de haber muerto!!!!

Yes is nice, but there are a few issues.

* Uru is dead for those people that are not living on the list of allowed countries. So, the question may be: What happens now with alcugs?
As you know, or you should know, you can't release something under the GPL license, and then remove it. As soon as Alcugs was released to the public under a GPL license it was released forever. In fact, Cyan can't in any moment force any type of GPL software to be only valid when they want.
As you know, you can modify Alcugs to authenticate using whatever authentication mechanism you plug into it's own auth server. You also need to provide you own dataserver. With those two items, you can perfectly continue playing Uru with alcugs as far as it is allowed in your country. On some countries it may be illegal but on others it may be not. Check your nearest lawyer.

Now, what I really want to say, it's about the Future. A way to continue the Alcugs project without Cyan's threats, lawsuits, and c&d's. Our own new game engine for the Alcugs project.... 7d7.

Now, before people starts to dream, or think about a big cathedral. 7d7 is still stuck in the Planning stages. I'm not going to be able to start working seriously on it until I have not finished and published another project (codename apf (It's just another boring CMS, so there is nothing new here, but I must finish it because is an university project)).
As soon as 7d7 starts as the main project on this server, then is when I will need your help.
When the first idea was an Uru port, through PRPSceneManager, I finally scratched it for now for legal issues and lack of information of several key PRP types. Now, In the prototypes for testing purposes I'm using the assets of another GPL'd game without any fear of being taken by the Cyan police authorities Wink
But, it would be nice in the future to use other material to test the engine.

Well, what I'm attempting to say is very simple.

Please, don't stop working in your creations, in your work, in your ages, just because company X shuts down an authentication server, and sends lawyers to visit the authors of some tools and administrators of some shards.

Please, keep your work, continue using your content creation tools. Don't allow any company to put barriers to your imagination. I want you to start whatever 3d/2d software that you have, and let your imagination create something beautiful and unique.

But, now the question is, how can I publish, share, play with my work?

Don't worry about it. The worst case scenario, is that 7d7 is never finished, then nothing happens, there is a considerable amount of game engines available to try, some are commercial, and some are free. If you have not done yet, you can try the built-in blender game engine, you can also try other free game engines like Yake, etc...

Now, if 7d7 becomes a reality, the 7d7 plugin for blender will allow you to export and play with your currently content made for Uru in a few clicks.

Ah, and 7d7 is a fully multiplayer engine, well it will be, I have still not integrated the netcore prototype with the engine prototype.

More information will be posted here in the near future.


viene a decir que Until Uru ha muerto, pero una nueva generación de motor gráfico se avecina... que se os grabe bien--------------- 7d7 --------------------- os juro que nunca tres caracteres me gustaron tanto
