Jim Stephenson, webmaster de la famosa Riven Unofficial Home Page, ha encontrado (con la ayuda de otro fan llamado Og) una nueva imagen de Myst OnLine en una revista alemana :

QUOTE

Here's my shot at a translation of the German text. Maintaining a
balance between accuracy of meaning and literal translation isn't quite
easy, since the German language often uses quite different expressions,
and I've tried to take great care to avoid potential misinterpretations,
so reading may be a bit bumpy at times. Also, the article itself has no
real \"flow\" - it appears to have been shortened and truncated by the
editor.

(Words in brackets are my additions, or more literal or alternate
expressions.)

COMPUTER GAME
The Adventure Goes On
The game \"Myst\" has fans all over the world. Now its inventor Rand
Miller has announced MYST ONLINE.

More than eleven million times the computer games of the Myst series
have been sold - a gigantic success for a game where there are no
fights, but \"only\" alien (foreign) worlds, enigmatic symbols and strange
machines. Now the inventor of Myst, Rand Miller, wants to bring his game
online (www.mystonline.com). The Stern (magazine) talked to him at the
game exhibition E3 in Los Angeles.

Mr. Miller, how shall the new \"Myst Online\" look when it will appear in
2003?
Three-dimensional and exciting, of course (laughs). We want the players
to experience something they can tell their co-workers or friends about
on the next day. \"Yesterday, I've explored a canyon and have found a
village\", for instance. They're the game, they shall become the
storytellers.

So the online stories won't be coming from you anymore?
But yes, of course, and online even more so. When the game will be
released, our work will only just begin. Online games constantly need
new contents. Specifically Myst has to offer new stories and worlds to
explore every day. So we'll be building something new into the game
every day. It's like in TV, the movies or music: I look or listen
because I want to find something new. Only today I want to be no longer
just passively, but fully (really) immersed.

How long do you intend to keep this up?
As long as players will say \"I've been to the canyon but I don't know
the village. I have to go there once again!\"

How much will it cost?
We don't know yet, it's too early to say. But there will be a
subscription of some kind (lit.: in some form).

For computer owners only?
We're also currently negotiating with (lit.: talking to) manufacturers
(lit.: offerers) of game consoles.

Interview: Sven Stillich

(Caption in big picture):
This is how the world of \"Myst Online\" looks so far. The game is
scheduled for release next year - maybe also for online-capable game
consoles.
